Borbeck Castle
Borbeck Palace is a baroque moated castle in the Borbeck district of Essen. It has been the preferred residence of the Essen prince abbesses since the 14th century and received its present external appearance in the 18th century. Since the 1980s it has been used as a venue for further education and cultural events. The adjacent castle park is wonderful for a walk. You can stop for a bite to eat at the restaurant “Zur Münze”.
