Castle Hugenpoet

Castle Hugenpoet is a three-part moated castle surrounded by moats in the Kettwig district of Essen in the immediate vicinity of Schloss Landsberg. Its name can be interpreted as “Toad Pond,” which is a reference to the marshy floodplain landscapes there in the Ruhr Valley. Since February 1985, the site has been a listed building and today serves as a hotel-restaurant.
