Castle Landsberg

In 1903, the industrialist August Thyssen bought the now badly dilapidated castle and its forest. After carrying out extensive renovation work, August Thyssen moved his residence from Mülheim an der Ruhr to Landsberg. After August Thyssen’s death, the castle became a foundation of the Thyssen family and is now used for thyssenkrupp AG conferences/seminars. It is not open to the public, but guided tours of the castle can be arranged. The park and the surrounding woods invite visitors to go hiking in the area.
